Who are the most relevant people in Milan when it comes to the promotion of the city ? Who are those that thanks to their hard work are transforming Milan into an international destination? Who are those that are keeping the memory and the tradition of the city alive? The Vivaio Association recently gave an answer to all of these questions through the Vivaio Awards. The association was born in 2012 when a small group of friends decided to create workshops and small meetings with the aim to make Milan relevant on an international scale. Nowadays the association counts on the cooperation of plenty of professionals in a wide range of industries such as IT, retail, fashion and culture. These people have one mission to accomplish: turn Milan into the ideal city, the landmark for the whole world. The best way to highlight how the Milan citizens are contributing to the international development of the city is for sure to commend their efforts. This is why the Vivaio association decided to create the Vivaio Awards.

Last night the recipients of the awards have been welcome in the iconic setting of the Triennale, the city’s design museum. There were seven categories, each one of them named after a plant or flower ( Vivaio in Italian means nursery/greenhouse). Among the winners the no profit association “Pane Quotidiano” (daily bread) that provides food to those in need in the city and Selene Biffi a digital entrepreneur whose aim is the diffusion of awareness on certain topics such as health and food safety in third world countries. The EXPO 2015 has been acknowledged as the big news of the year, for the city 2015 will be the year of EXPO. The award in the category “The world in Milan” went to Johnny Kai: the owner of a small hardware store in the Milanese Chinatown who is well known to be the master of fixing.

Among the presenters of the awards there were personalities such as the superintendent of the La Scala Opera house, Alexander Pereira, the model and Djs Kris and Kris and the worldwide known chef Ernst Knam.

The Vivaio association is for sure setting the standards when it comes to quality of life, sustainability and international promotion of the city of Milan. These awards are intended to become a relevant acknowledgment of the commitment of the Milanese people to their city.
